Quick guide
How the quiz works
The Anagram Quiz is a free daily word game that tests how fast you can spot an anagram. At midnight US Eastern time everyone gets the same ten words, with sixty seconds and one try. For every word, one of four real words uses exactly the same letters. The other three look close, but each swaps in a letter or two.
- Read the word. The clock starts when you press Start, and pauses while you read each answer.
- Pick the anagram.Tap an option or press 1 to 4. Look for the letter that does not belong.
- Come back tomorrow.Play every day to build a streak, then share your score. Practice is unlimited.
Questions
When does the daily quiz change?
At midnight US Eastern time, the same moment for everyone, with daylight saving handled automatically. After you play, a countdown shows how long is left.
Can I retake the daily quiz?
No. Everyone gets one try, which is what makes a shared score mean something. If you leave the page partway through, the round pauses and picks up where you stopped. Practice mode has unlimited rounds.
How does the streak work?
Finish the daily quiz on consecutive days to build it. Any score counts, so the streak is about showing up. Practice rounds do not affect it.
What counts as the right answer?
The one option that uses every letter of the word exactly once, in a different order. The word itself is never one of the options.
Why are the wrong options so close?
Each one shares all but one or two letters with the word. Spotting the letter that does not belong is exactly the skill the quiz trains.
Does the clock run while I read the feedback?
No. It stops as soon as you answer and starts again with the next word, so reading why an answer was wrong never costs you time.
Where are my scores saved?
In your browser, on this device. There is no account. Clearing site data or switching devices starts your streak fresh.
